Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
1. Introduction
HomeSoccer ("HomeSoccer," "we," "our" or "us") operates the HomeSoccer mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). We provide a searchable directory of youth soccer camps, clubs, coaches and other resources. We do not create, operate or endorse any events or third‑party content; we simply provide information for families to consider.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect information when you use the Service. It applies to all users, including children under 13 with verifiable parental consent. Please read this Policy carefully. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. If you do not agree with any part of this Policy, do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you voluntarily provide when creating an account, submitting a listing or interacting with us. This may include:
- Account information: name, email address, user name, password and profile information.
- Contact information: phone number, mailing address or other information you choose to provide.
- User‑generated content: reviews, ratings, comments, photos or other content you submit.
- Parental consent forms: for users under 13, we collect the parent/guardian's name, contact information and signed consent (see Section 9).
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you access the Service, our systems automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with the Service. This includes:
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, time spent and links clicked.
- Usage data: search queries, preferences, clicks and interactions with content.
- Location data: general geographic location derived from IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation unless you allow it via your device settings.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small text files stored on your device help the Service function, remember your preferences and analyse usage. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third‑party service providers (such as analytics or advertising partners) or from social networks if you link your account. We use this information only for the purposes described in this Policy.
3. Why We Collect and Use Your Information
Our reasons for collecting and using information include:
- To provide, maintain and improve the Service. We use account information to create and administer accounts, customise your experience and deliver content relevant to your interests.
- To communicate with you. We use contact information to send service‑related messages (e.g., account verification, updates) and to respond to your inquiries.
- For analytics and research. We analyse usage data to understand how users interact with the Service, diagnose issues and improve features.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect rights. We may process your information as necessary to comply with law, regulations or legal processes, to enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements, and to protect our users, partners and the public.
- With your consent. Where required, we rely on your consent for certain processing activities, such as sending marketing communications. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
We process personal information based on several lawful bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including performance of a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service), consent (sending marketing communications) and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following situations:
- Service providers: We engage vendors to perform functions on our behalf (such as hosting, data analysis, payment processing, customer support and communications). They have access to your information only to perform these tasks and are obligated to protect it.
- Analytics and advertising partners: We may share limited, aggregated or pseudonymised data with analytics providers to improve our Service. We may use advertising networks to support the Service; we do not share information with third‑party advertisers except with your consent.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety or property or those of others.
- Business transfers: If HomeSoccer undergoes a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or uses of your information.
- With your consent: We may share information with third parties when you provide consent or direct us to do so.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to make the Service work properly and to understand how it is used. Some cookies are necessary for basic functions; others help us remember preferences, measure traffic or personalise content. You can learn more and control your cookie preferences in our separate Cookie Policy. Under the ePrivacy Directive (EU) and GDPR, we will obtain your consent before storing or accessing non‑essential cookies on your device.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Service, fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, comply with our legal obligations and enforce our agreements. We will delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed. Specific retention periods by category are as follows:
| Data Category | Examples | Retention Period | Basis |

| Legal and compliance records | Consent logs, dispute records, transaction records | Up to 7 years | Legal obligation |
When a retention period expires, data is securely deleted or irreversibly anonymised. You may request early deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).
7. How We Protect Your Information
We implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These include encryption in transit, secure servers, access controls and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you reside, you have the following rights regarding your personal information. EEA, UK, and Swiss residents have these rights under the GDPR or equivalent local law. California residents have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We honour these rights for all users regardless of location.
Right of Access (Article 15 GDPR)
You have the right to obtain confirmation of whether we process personal data about you and, if so, to receive a copy of that data along with information about how and why we process it, how long we keep it, and who we share it with.
How to exercise: Email privacy@homesoccer.com with the subject line "Data Access Request". We will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.
Right of Rectification (Article 16 GDPR)
You have the right to have inaccurate personal data corrected and incomplete personal data completed without undue delay.
How to exercise: You can update most account information directly from your account settings. For data you cannot update yourself, email privacy@homesoccer.com with the subject "Rectification Request" and specify what needs to be corrected.
Right of Erasure / "Right to Be Forgotten" (Article 17 GDPR)
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected, you withdraw consent and there is no other lawful basis to continue processing, you object to processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds, or the data has been processed unlawfully.
Exceptions: We may retain certain data where required by law, for the establishment or defence of legal claims, or to protect the rights of other individuals.
How to exercise: Email privacy@homesoccer.com with the subject "Erasure Request". We will confirm deletion within 30 days and notify any third parties with whom we shared your data.
Right to Restriction of Processing (Article 18 GDPR)
You have the right to request that we limit the processing of your personal data — meaning we store it but do not actively use it — in certain circumstances: while you contest the accuracy of data we hold; if processing is unlawful and you prefer restriction over erasure; if we no longer need the data but you need it for legal claims; or while we verify whether our legitimate grounds override your objection.
How to exercise: Email privacy@homesoccer.com with the subject "Restriction Request". We will acknowledge the request within 30 days and notify you before we lift any restriction.
Right to Data Portability (Article 20 GDPR)
Where processing is based on your consent or the performance of a contract, and is carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (such as JSON or CSV), and to transmit it to another controller where technically feasible.
How to exercise: Email privacy@homesoccer.com with the subject "Data Portability Request". We will provide your data export within 30 days.
Right to Object (Article 21 GDPR)
You have the right to object at any time to processing of your personal data that is based on our legitimate interests or carried out for direct marketing purposes. If you object to direct marketing, we will stop processing for that purpose immediately. If you object to processing based on legitimate interests, we will stop unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests or that the processing is necessary for legal claims.
How to exercise: For marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email we send you. For all other objections, email privacy@homesoccer.com with the subject "Objection to Processing" and describe the processing you object to. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookie and Consent Preferences
You can withdraw or adjust your consent for analytics and marketing cookies at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
How to exercise: Click "Cookie Settings" in the site footer to open the consent panel. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings, or visit our Cookie Policy for additional options including the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
California Residents — CCPA/CPRA Rights
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and why; the right to delete personal information we hold about them (subject to exceptions); the right to correct inaccurate personal information; the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; and the right to non-discrimination for exercising any CCPA right.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide a prominent opt-out mechanism.
How to exercise: Email privacy@homesoccer.com with the subject "California Privacy Request" or use the same email addresses listed above for access, deletion, or correction requests. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We support the Global Privacy Control, a browser or extension setting that broadcasts your opt-out preference automatically. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and disable analytics and marketing cookies for you by default — no additional steps are needed. You can confirm our support at /.well-known/gpc.json, and you can still adjust your preferences manually at any time using "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you are an EEA, UK, or Swiss resident and believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. A list of EEA supervisory authorities is available at edpb.europa.eu. UK residents may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns before you contact a supervisory authority, so please reach out to us first at privacy@homesoccer.com.
We will respond to all verified rights requests within 30 days of receipt. In exceptional circumstances we may extend this by a further two months, in which case we will notify you and explain the reason for the delay. We do not charge a fee for reasonable requests, though we may charge a reasonable fee for manifestly unfounded or excessive requests. For minors under 13, a parent or guardian must exercise these rights on the child's behalf.
9. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Other Laws)
HomeSoccer is intended for families and may be accessed by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent as required by the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Our child‑focused practices include:
- Parental consent: We obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13. We provide parents with a direct notice describing our data practices and request their consent through a signed form (see our Parental Consent & Release).
- Parental rights: Parents may review, delete or refuse further use of their child's personal information at any time. If a parent withdraws consent, the child's account will be disabled and information deleted.
- Limited data collection: We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the Service to children. We do not condition a child's participation on providing more personal information than reasonably necessary.
- Age gating: We request that users under 13 ask a parent or guardian to help them create an account. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
We operate in the United States, and we may process and store information on servers located in the U.S. or other countries. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S. or other jurisdictions, which may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we will implement appropriate safeguards to ensure an adequate level of protection.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have provided one) or by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
