AI Transparency Policy

We believe you deserve to know when and how AI tools contribute to the content you read on HomeSoccer. This page explains our disclosure labels, the tools we use, and the regulations we follow.

Our AI Content Policy

HomeSoccer creates content — articles, guides, and images — to help families discover soccer opportunities in their community. Like many publishers, we sometimes use AI writing and image tools to help produce or refine content more efficiently.

We are committed to transparency: when AI plays a meaningful role in creating or editing content, we label it clearly so you can make an informed judgment about what you are reading. We do not use AI to fabricate facts, impersonate real people, or produce misleading content.

All published content — regardless of how it was created — is reviewed by a member of the HomeSoccer team before it goes live.

Understanding Our Disclosure Labels

When AI was involved in creating an article or image, you will see one of these badges on the content. Clicking any badge brings you to this page.

AI Assisted
AI Assisted
A human author wrote this content. AI tools were used to help with tasks like grammar checking, improving sentence flow, generating research summaries, or brainstorming headline ideas. The ideas, structure, and voice are the author's own. This is similar to using spell-check or a thesaurus, extended to sentence-level suggestions.
AI Generated
AI Generated
An AI model substantially drafted this content based on a topic brief and prompts from a HomeSoccer editor. A human team member reviewed, edited, fact-checked, and approved the content before publishing. The human editor takes editorial responsibility for the published piece. This label aligns with the EU AI Act Article 50.5 exemption for content that has undergone human review and editorial responsibility.
AI Created
AI Created
An AI model produced this content with minimal human creative direction. A HomeSoccer team member verified the factual accuracy before publishing, but the authorship is primarily the AI model's. This is our highest disclosure level and reflects full transparency about minimal human creative involvement.
Image: AI Generated
Image Disclosures
Featured images may carry a separate disclosure label. An image labeled "Image: AI Assisted" means a real photograph or original image was enhanced using AI tools (background removal, lighting adjustments, etc.). "Image: AI Generated" means the image was primarily produced by a generative AI model. "Image: AI Created" means it is a fully AI-generated image with no base photograph.

What it looks like on an article

When a disclosure level is set, a notice like this appears in the article header so readers can see it clearly:

Regulatory Compliance

EU AI Act — Article 50 (Transparency Obligations)

The EU Artificial Intelligence Act Article 50 requires deployers of AI systems to disclose when content is AI-generated, particularly for images, audio, video, and text published to inform the public. These obligations become fully enforceable on August 2, 2026.

Our disclosure labels implement this requirement. Content classified as "AI Generated" under Article 50.5 has undergone human editorial review, qualifying for the editorial responsibility exemption. Content classified as "AI Created" receives full disclosure.

California AI Transparency Act (SB 942)

California's SB 942, effective January 2026, requires providers of generative AI systems with more than one million monthly users to offer disclosure mechanisms and AI detection tools. As a content publisher (not an AI system provider), we voluntarily implement the same disclosure standards as best practice and to prepare for potential expansion of these laws to content deployers.

FTC Guidance on AI Disclosure

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has issued guidance that using AI to create content without disclosure may constitute a deceptive practice. Our policy proactively addresses this guidance by clearly labeling AI-involved content.

About C2PA — Content Credentials Standard

The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) is an international standards body — backed by Adobe, Google, Microsoft, Meta, OpenAI, and others — that develops technical specifications for tracking the origin and editing history of digital content. The C2PA specification (currently version 2.2, May 2025) defines how to embed cryptographic provenance metadata into image, video, audio, and document files.

Our AI disclosure labels align with C2PA's AI assertion framework for content provenance. Our machine-readable metadata (structured data on article pages) follows C2PA's recommended approach for web-published content, including Schema.org additionalProperty assertions for AI disclosure level.

We are working toward full C2PA implementation for images published on this platform, which will include cryptographically signed content credentials that can be verified by tools such as the C2PA Verify tool.
